MinE Best Paper Award 2022 - Conversation with Researchers (Second Session)
The MinE Best Paper Award was launched in 2022. In the first edition of the Award, the paper Gender Typicality and Sexual Minority Labor Market Differentials, co-authored by Ian Burn and Michael E. Martell, was given a special mention by the Award Committee.
The Award Committee wrote: The paper is an innovative study with a surprising result. They study whether "gender typicality" - a continuous measure they construct to quantify masculinity/femininity - affects labor market outcomes (it does), and whether it drives gaps by sexual orientation (it does not). That is, masculinity affects labor market outcomes of both men and women, but does not explain the labor market differentials experienced by sexual minorities.
The paper was recently awarded the inaugural CSQIEP Award for Outstanding Research Paper in LGBTQ+ Economics (AEA)
Join Ian and Michael virtually on Wednesday, February 15 at 14:30 CET for a conversation about the path they take on producing this award winning paper. Session will be chaired by Sulin Sardoschau. CLICK HERE TO JOIN SESSION
